Low Frequency Research (lfresearch.org) is an independent, research-and-education resource. We try to collect as little as possible, we run no advertising, and we do not sell or share your personal data. This page explains what we do collect and how to control it.
We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-CXTKGQL5ZM) to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used — which pages are visited, general device and approximate (city-level) location, and anonymous interaction events such as which section or category was used. IP addresses are not stored by GA in a form we can see, and we do not attempt to identify individuals.
The site implements Google Consent Mode v2. Advertising signals are always denied (we run no ads). Analytics storage is denied by default in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland until you choose Accept; in those regions, until you opt in, Google receives only cookieless, aggregated signals. Outside those regions, analytics are granted by default and you may decline at any time.
Our custom events are designed to be privacy-preserving: we log that a search happened or that a category filter was used, but not the text you typed, and we log the category of a question that is opened, not the specific question.
_ga, _ga_*) — set by Google Analytics only after analytics consent is granted. Used to distinguish visitors and measure usage.lf_consent so the banner doesn't reappear. This never leaves your device. If you join the app waitlist or share your story, those forms are handled by Formspree, which delivers your submission (e.g. your email address and any message) to us. We use it only to respond to you and to improve the project; we don't add you to marketing lists. See Formspree's privacy policy.
Fonts and icons are self-hosted, so your browser is not making requests to font or icon CDNs. The remaining third parties are: Google Analytics (analytics, consent-gated as above), Formspree (only when you submit a form), and Elfsight (the on-page translator and chat widget, which load their own scripts). Each has its own privacy policy.
