Evidence packet builder

Log each incident, your complaints, any meter readings and photos, then print a clean, dated record for a landlord, council, police, or attorney.

Everything stays in this browser
Nothing you type or add here is uploaded to us or anyone else, and analytics only counts that the tool was used, never what's in it. Your entries are saved on this device so you can come back to them; turn that off below if others use this device. The chat widget on the page is a separate service, so don't paste your log into it.

1. About the situation

All optional. Leave anything blank you don't want in the packet.

2. Log incidents (0)

Log each event as soon as you can, ideally while it's happening. Logs made at the time carry the most weight.

Effects

3. Measurements (optional)

Phone apps and dB(A) settings under-read low-frequency sound. Use dB(C) or dB(Z) if your meter allows. See Detection & Evidence.

Import a meter export (CSV)

Many meters and apps can export readings as CSV. The packet shows daily maximum and energy-average (Leq) values, plus a fingerprint of the original file. The full file stays with you.

4. Complaints and contacts (0)

Every time you report it to a landlord, council, police, or HOA. This record shows you used the proper channels.

5. Photos and files (optional)

Each item gets a SHA-256 fingerprint, a code anyone can recompute later to confirm the original file hasn't been changed. Files never leave your device.

Photos to include

e.g. where equipment sits against a shared wall. Photos are printed in the packet but are not saved. Re-add them if you come back later.

Recordings and other files

Audio, video, or meter files you're keeping as originals. The packet lists each one with its fingerprint.

6. Print or save as PDF

The preview below updates as you type. Press the button, then choose Save as PDF as the printer to get a file. Sign the declaration by hand after printing, or digitally.

This is a personal record-keeping tool, not legal advice. For what to do with the packet, see Documented Cases and the Legal Directory.
